Churches of Pedoulas

The churches were built here from the 15th century until the 20th century, when the local Cathedral of the Holy Cross (1935) was built, which dominates the whole valley.

However, the most important church, which makes Pedoulas a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the Church of the Archangel Michael from 1474, which at first glance looks more like a stone cottage with a wooden roof. It is a beautiful example of religious architecture in a very remote rural location.
